Biaera Introduces the Aero3G – Third Generation Aerosol Control Platform

No Comments Uncategorized

The Aero3G control platform is a smaller, lighter, expandable version of Biaera’s AeroMP control system.  Operated through the same software interface as our previous systems, this newer version offers all of the same capabilities as the AeroMP:

  • exposure control
  • environmental monitoring and control
  • seamless integration with particle size distribution analysis platforms
  • real-time respiratory monitoring through our plethysmography and telemetry partners
  • full functionality with any exposure chamber
  • dose-based exposure control
  • real-time integrated data recording and error analysis

The smaller footprint offers greater flexibility in lab configurations, conserves valuable space in high containment applications, and facilitates movement around the lab.  USB and RS-232 ports support plug-and-play expansion to control additional devices and integrate analytical instruments from our partners into your aerosol system.

Contact Biaera to discuss how the Aero3G can serve as the cornerstone of your aerosol program.

Influenza Research with Biaera’s AeroMP

No Comments Uncategorized

Biaera’s AeroMP inhalation exposure system was used to study human (H3N2) and avian (H5N1) influenza viruses in a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).  In the study, the authors investigated the deposition, infectivity, virulence and transmissibility of influenza infections introduced through the aerosol (AeroMP) and intranasal routes of administration.  The study concluded that aerosol infection more closely resembles natural influenza infection and transmission than does intranasal innoculation.  Read the paper on-line at the PNAS web site.
