Biaera Founder Named to Governor’s Advisory Council

Dr. Justin Hartings, Founder of Biaera Technologies, was recently appointed by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley to the Maryland Advisory Council for Virtual Learning.  A permanent council created by the Maryland Legislature, the Advisory Council for Virtual Learning develops policy recommendations for incorporating on-line, blended, and virtual instruction in Maryland schools.  Dr. Hartings is honored to be appointed to this position and looks forward to working with Council Members from across the State of Maryland to ensure that our public schools lead the nation in providing students with 21st century learning experiences.

Biaera Technologies was honored to receive the Leading Edge Award at the 2013 Washington County Business Awards.  Sponsored jointly by the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce and the Washington County Economic Development Commission, the Business Awards recognize organizations, individuals, and non-profits that provide innovative and forward-thinking leadership in the business community.  The Leading Edge Award recognizes a local business that leverages new technology to advance their organization.  This advancement could be through the innovative use of an existing technology, a new invention offered for sale, or creating or developing a significant advancement that serves as an inspiration for future progress.  Thanks to the Washington County business community for honoring Biaera!

“Technology for Today” is the Federal Laboratory Consortium’s annual account of the commercialization of work sponsored by the United States Government. Biaera Technologies was highlighted in the most recent issue as a commercialization success story. Biaera is proud to be transitioning government funded research into the private sector.
